A 1/43 scale model of the Japan Ground Self-Defense ForceType 87 Reconnaissance Combat Vehicle (Type 87 RCV), a wheeled armored reconnaissance vehicle.
Based on the Type 82 Command and Communication Vehicle, with a turret equipped with an autocannon mounted on top of the hull.
Before this vehicle was deployed, motorcycles were often used for reconnaissance missions. Its introduction made reconnaissance-in-force missions possible, providing the ability to respond if detected by enemy forces.
