Great Zaurus Greatsaurus Gigan 11.2in PVC Figure Figurine Plex NIB
About the Great Zaurus Series
In the late 1970s, during Japan's Third Kaiju Boom, Popy introduced the Great Zaurus Series and King Zaurus Series, which were sold from 1978 to 1981. These collectible toys were produced by Popy, a company within the Bandai Group.
The most distinctive feature of these series was the unique footprint pattern molded into the soles of each character's feet. Because of this, the series was sometimes referred to as the "Footprint Series."
The lineup included both the Ultra Monster Series and the Toho Monster Series.
In 2024, as part of Godzilla's 70th anniversary celebration, the classic soft vinyl figure Great Zaurus Godzilla was faithfully recreated and reissued using newly developed molds. This was followed by King Ghidorah, featuring the rounded, retro-style sculpt characteristic of the original Popy King Zaurus Series.
The latest release is Gigan, featuring an entirely new sculpt inspired by the original Popy King Zaurus Gigan, recreated in the larger size of the Great Zaurus Series!
Gigan, also known as the Cyborg Monster or Future Monster, is distinguished by its single red, visor-like eye, a large horn on its head, fangs on both sides of its mouth, sharp single claws on its hands and feet, and a cutter on its abdomen. It also has three wings on its back.
This Gigan figure faithfully captures the distinctive rounded, retro-style sculpt of the original series.
Display it alongside Great Zaurus Godzilla and the other figures in the series!
Articulation: Neck, both arms, both legs, and tail.
The soles of the feet feature the distinctive molded footprints found on the original Great Zaurus (King Zaurus) Series figures.
