C62-2 Hokkaido 1/150 Scale Model Train Figurine N scale Kato NIB
Product Introduction
The C62, which operated in Hokkaido, was equipped with heavy-duty cold- and snow-resistant equipment suited to the harsh winter climate, and hauled passenger trains including the Niseko express. Among them, Locomotive No. 2 featured the Tsubame mark on its deflectors and stainless-steel trim around the deflectors, earning it the affectionate nickname Swallow Angel. On the Hakodate Main Line, commonly known as the Mountain Line, it was also operated in double-heading service with a helper locomotive coupled at the front, gaining great popularity. After its final active service in the C62 farewell triple-heading run on September 15, 1971, it was retired from regular operation. Later, C62 No. 2 was preserved in operating condition at the Kyoto Railway Museum, but upon the privatization and division into JR companies, it was restored in 1987 and operated as the C62 Niseko until November 1995. It is currently statically preserved at the Naebo Factory Railway Technology Museum of JR Hokkaido.
This is the return of Hokkaido’s C62 No. 2, a representative locomotive of the late-1960s and early-1970s SL boom. The famous double-heading operation of Locomotive No. 2 + Locomotive No. 3 (sold separately) on the Niseko express can be recreated.
